Simon Anderson
Simon Anderson is the Managing Director of Ocean Avenue Ventures (OAV), a private
investment and consulting firm with a focus on next generation software, internet
and new media companies.
Prior to founding OAV, Simon was VP Strategy & Business Development at Affinity
Internet, Inc.(www.affinity.com) - a leading US-based web hosting and application
services company with over 200,000 customers - funded by George Schmitt, JP Morgan
Capital, Columbia Capital and Wachovia Capital. Affinity was successfully sold to
Hostway Corporation (www.hostway.com) in April 2007.
Prior to Affinity Simon was a general partner of Allen & Buckeridge (www.a-b.com.au),
a leading Australian venture capital firm specialising in early stage, high
growth technology companies.
Having originally worked with the founders of the company during their initial moves
into North America (www.anzatech.com) Simon has been formally appointed to the
Advisory Board to assist Synetek in executing its growth strategies for the
United States and Canadian markets.
Jim Paulyshyn
Jim is a Chartered Accountant who completed an MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies at
Toronto's York University before migrating to Australia. As a Director with
Coopers & Lybrand he provided a range of consulting and advisory services to
early stage companies including business planning, joint venture structuring,
and due diligence investigations.
Jim has a wide breadth of international experience in early stage technology
commercialization projects. He was the founding CFO with Internet pioneer
Sausage Software and he project managed its 1996 IPO. Jim spent a significant
part of the next two years establishing international operations in the US,
negotiating alliances with leading technology companies, and steering the
groups to cash positive operations.
Jim has been involved with a number of technology focused projects ranging from
capital raising, trade sales, and technology licensing agreements. His clients
have included a number of Australian publicly listed technology groups, private
investors, technology incubators, as well as a wide range of early stage private
companies. Jim's experience spans the life cycle from raising initial capital to
liquidity events including trade sale and IPO. Jim has represented a number of
buyers in engineering "liquidity events" and he also has significant sell-side
experience.
KJW Consultants have been engaged by the boards of numerous ASX listed entities
for strategy matters and for corporate advisory support and also are currently
incubating a wide range of early stage/start-up technology sector investments,
via AusIndustry's Commercialising Emerging Technologies program.
Jim's appointment to the Synetek Advisory Board will continue the strong working
relationship established by the founders and be a key component in achieving the
company's overall corporate strategy in both domestic and global markets.
Adam Boyd
Currently the Chief Executive Officer of a publicly listed (ASX) renewable energy
company that operates in the International marketplace Adam has operated in
various professional capacities over a corporate career of more than fifteen
years for a number private and public companies.
As a Chartered Accountant, and prior to his current role, Adam held the role of
Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary for a listed global energy and
technology company, in addition to being a senior executive in various infrastructure
and finance organisations.
Having been a member of the Synetek Advisory Board since the company was founded
Adam has been, and continues to be, invaluable in assisting the management team
and Board of Directors with corporate and financial strategy and structuring.
Rodney Moynihan
With more than a decade of experience in senior business development roles in
the Australasian IT industry, Rod has assisted management and the board in developing
the company's communications and sales strategy for securing SMB market share.
Throughout his career Rod has developed a great ability to understand the requirements
of target verticals, the needs and wants of the SMB sector within those verticals
and delivering solution-based outcomes. Key verticals Rod is established within
include Retail, Financial Services, Mining, Government and Non-Government Organisations.
Having delivered for both Australian private companies and some of the world's largest
software vendors, Rod's input and knowledge is invaluable to the company in executing
its business development strategies.
